•Settlement is the main base area of a player or clan. Players and clans are only allowed one settlement and 1 outpost. (Capitals may have up to 2 outposts, anywhere within the map as long as permission is granted by it’s capital leader)
•Outposts are small, one to three structures area that a clan is allowed to have as a small secondary location if they have reason for it.
•Fit-to-Purpose Structure is a temporary structure that is meant for temporary use: i.e. thralling, or with help in moving materials from an old base area to a new one. There can be only two built by a clan or player at any given time.
•Public Venue is operated on a Land Claim as a part of or outside of a Settlement. These are intended primarily to be RP hubs created by players and are intended to be maintained by players. If a public venue goes unused for too long, or becomes too large, the owning player(s) will be contacted by admin. Examples include Taverns, Arenas, markets, or otherwise small, easily maintained gathering areas. With regards to public spaces, players are encouraged to contact Admin to discuss building a Public Venue. These venues must serve an express purpose, be maintained, and be frequently used for low-impact social roleplay, or high-impact roleplay events. These are subject to Admin approval, and approval is not guaranteed. Examples of Public Venues are not limited to arenas, temples, taverns, and inns, and areas used for events.
•Point-of-Interest (POI) is a location populated by an npc for the purpose of in-game story elements, dungeons, and spawn locations of named thralls. Examples are but not limited to The Black Galleon, Sepermeru, New Asagarth, The Dregs, Mounds of the Dead, The Den, The Black Keep, The Summoning Place, Forgotten City of Xel-ha, Buccaneer Bay, The Well of Skelos, The Temple of Frost, Palace of the Witch Queen, The Barrow King, The Passage, Dragonmouth, The Unnamed City. As well as locations that contain emotes, recipes, etc.
•Foundations may not be used as walls for buildings but may be used as perimeter walls for bases up to 4 high.
• Black Ice building pieces are not allowed (internal sparkle scripts contribute to excessive lag)
•random building pieces or items to prevent an area from being claimed are prohibited.
•Players and clans may not use a Land Claim to block access to rare resources, points-of-interest, world bosses, chests, dungeon entrances or obstruct travel through major points of entry across the map.
•Please be mindful, and proactive, in securing an area in which you wish to build. If you’ve found an area to build in but do not have time to do more than place the beginnings of a structure or claim, please inform an admin. Otherwise, unattended clusters of foundations or pieces may be destroyed.
•Players should use discretion when Land Claiming close to major points-of-interest. Bases or outposts are not allowed within a 30 second sprint from or within direct line of sight. Thralls wheels may be placed only as needed, following the rules regarding line of sight and sprint distance, and only until the taming of the thralls is complete. The only permanent placement of wheels allowed is within the bounds of a main base or outpost.
•Land Claims are subject to Admin revision.
•All Structures should be built with the purpose to aid and enhance roleplay, and should have an in-character reason for being built.
•Avoid cube designs and double layered honeycombing.
•All members of a clan must come to a consensus with regard to demolishing structures on their Land Claim. It is not within the scope of a single member to make the decision without consulting other members of the clan.
•Due to their impact on performance, clans are limited to 5 fish traps each.
• All bases must have a clear point of entrance and built in an RP style. Pulling bracelet as your only means of access to your base is not allowed.
• Exploiting the land claim to gain access to securely walled off bases (pillars/foundation towers, etc) is a “two strikes you’re out” banneable offense. If you are caught, you will be asked by admin to replace stolen goods. If you are caught a second time, you will be banned. Don’t do it. (This does not protect people using natural structures to gain access. I.e.: Cliffs, trees, npc structures. You are still responsible for securing your base and items against said tactics.)
•By default, players will be given seven days after being notified of building rules violations in which to fix them, before admin go in to fix it themselves.
