Lore Synopsis

Our story begins about 5 years ago.  Ophir is a representation of the entire Conan Exiles Map.

King Moranthes II rules Ophir, with his child bride Queen Marala. Marala was forced to become his Queen, to stop Ophir from taking control of her kin's kingdom across the sea. The Capital of Ophir is the Unnamed City (Before it became desecrated). When she was forced to leave her own kingdom, her kin gave her a piece of jewelry that had the power to bring forth armies of her ancestors to protect their people from evil. She was told she could use it to free herself and return to her own lands. The Capital's small army is led by the Lord Commander Alistair Black, but when it comes to war, Ophir relied on it's regions to supply forces

For years, Marala is never allowed to leave the Capital and has always longed to explore the lands beyond its walls. She learns of an expedition being run by the King's cousin, Count Rigello. She persuades him to convince the King to allow her to go and he agrees, under the pretense that he keeps and eye on her and allows her bodyguard, Garus to accompany them as well.

When they arrive in the north, Marala has become very close with Rigello and proceeds to tell him of her secret in the hopes that he would agree to never return her to the King and if things went bad, she had the power to stop the King's wrath.

Rigello betrays Marala  and steals the circlet for himself. He then orders his men to kill her while he rides back to the Capital to try and overthrow Moranthes.

Garus, who has been like a father to Marala, helps her escape and instructs her to seek refuge within the regions. He returns to the camp, the men unaware of his involvement in her escape.

Rigello tells the King that Marala has been caught in an adulterous act and that she has run away. This drives the king mad and he abandons his kingdom to hunt her down, leaving the Tyrant Count to run the kingdom.

Alistair warns Rigello that threats of civil war are arriving by raven's to the Capital. This drives Rigello to use the Queen's circlet, but due to having an impure heart, it backfires and summons skeletal monstrosities that kill everyone in the Capital, leaving it an undead city. A giant withered otherworldly being named Klael takes the crown from Rigello and banishes him to the desert. Alistair is last seen helping innocent people flee from the city, through the Capital's east gate into Turan.

Ophir is left in a state of disarray, Regions divided; The people against each other.
